What experience are you creating?
Packaging should protect the product and support the moment it is opened. Before choosing paper and colour, consider what the box contains, how it will be delivered and whether the customer will keep it. A single product and a kit of several items may need different structures.
When to choose a rigid box
Base and lid, magnetic closure and drawer boxes offer different ways to access the contents. Consider a rigid box for gift sets, kits and products that need a carefully considered presentation. A shaped insert can organise the items: its dimensions start with the usable space inside the box and the actual products.
When to choose a folding carton
A printed folding carton is worth considering for compact packaging. It is delivered glued and flat, ready to open and assemble. Shipping therefore depends on the footprint of the flattened cartons and their weight, rather than the volume of each assembled box.
Dimensions come before style
Measure the product at its widest point, including caps, accessories and any protection. The configurator uses internal dimensions. Allow enough room to insert and remove the contents, then check the 3D preview. Paper, printing, quantity and dimensions determine the price shown in the configurator.
