The work of our hands, in every detail.

From positioning the board to finishing the covering: a short workshop film reveals the care behind our manual work.

An operator’s hands finish a box covering in the Scatole.com workshop.

A custom presentation box takes shape through precise choices: structure, board, paper, artwork and insert. In our workshop, many of the operations that give a box its quality are performed by hand. Our operators guide the materials, check alignment and finish the areas the customer will see when opening the product.

This short film shows one specific production stage: working the covering of a box component. It offers a close view of the care that a photograph of the finished box can only suggest.

Watch the work, one movement at a time

Inside our workshop: positioning, folding and finishing the covering by hand. Original workshop sound.

The film preserves the sequence of the work. After positioning the support, the operator guides the covering around the edges and finishes it with manual passes. At the end, the component is turned over to reveal its decorated surface. The printing is already present: this film documents the covering stage, rather than the full production cycle.

What the hands contribute

Positioning requires attention to the relationship between the support and its covering. An aligned edge, a carefully guided fold and a smooth surface all contribute to the finished appearance. The material needs attention throughout the operation: the paper’s thickness, stiffness and finish affect how it behaves around the structure.

Manual work allows the operator to observe the piece as it takes shape and attend to the finishing stages. It is part of our approach to making carefully finished boxes, especially when a project brings together particular dimensions, coverings and branding details.

Equipment and craftsmanship work together

Production also uses equipment, tools and technical preparation. The workshop setting is visible in the film: manual work belongs to an organised process. Quality depends on how the design, materials and individual production stages are coordinated.

When we describe our manual operations, we mean real tasks such as those shown here. Each model has its own construction and may need different steps. The work and finishes are defined around the chosen box.

From the workshop to your custom box

Our boxes can be customised in structure, dimensions, covering, artwork and inserts. The work is planned around the product: how should it be presented, protected and removed from its packaging? The opening, space for accessories and the way the brand appears are all part of that decision.

Start with magnetic boxes, base and lid boxes or three-piece boxes. The configurators help you select the features available for each model. For special material combinations or details that need development, send us your project.

Assess the result before production

A screen helps you consider proportions and artwork. A physical sample lets you assess the paper, feel, opening and how the product sits in the box. If the project includes a prototype, it is reviewed against the agreed features. This provides practical information before the production run.

To prepare your request, send internal dimensions, product dimensions, quantity, logo and desired finishes. Read about taking measurements, printing techniques and customising the insert. We can then connect your idea to a suitable construction and production approach.
